National defense stockpile stocks of high-carbon ferrochromium, chromium content in United States: Drop in 2017

According to updated numbers published by U.S. Geological Survey, in 2017 chromium stock fell by 21.29%. The variable declined by 7 900 metric ton, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it diminished by 17.56 percent. It's the lowest level on record since 2003. United States saw a decline of 91.34% in chromium stock during the last 15 years. Besides, it has attained a negative average annual growth rate of 0.14 percent over the last five years with a marginal overall drop since the start of observations. It averaged 112 733.33 metric ton from 2003 to 2017 and it hit its maximum of 337 000 metric ton in 2003.
