Import of single cotton yarn of uncombed fibres containing more than 85% by weight of cotton, measuring per single yarn more than 714 decitex to Algeria grows in 2017

Cotton import sharply rose by 200.93 percent in 2017, updated figures from United Nations Statistical Office reveal. The indicator went up strongly from 81 330 kilogram to 244 743 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it increased by 38.46 percent. Algeria saw a rise of 248.59% in cotton import over the past 26 years. As well as it has had a 0.11% average annual growth rate over the last five years with a modest overall raise since the 1992. It averaged 146 218.08 kilogram from 1992 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 655 644 kilogram in 2008 and record low of 642 kilogram in 2004.
