Sales of yarn of combed cotton for knitted fabrics and hosiery in Greece declines in 2016

European Commission announced that cotton yarn sales declined by 13.54% in comparison to the prior year. Cotton yarn sales fell from 2 367.61 thousand kilograms in 2015 to 2 047.01 thousand kilograms previous year, versus the prior year when it increased by 22.51%. Greece saw a decline of 89.03% in cotton yarn sales during the last 22 years. Likewise, it has had a decrease at a 0.12 percent average annual growth rate during the last 5 years with a marginal overall fall since the start of observations. It averaged 17 715.3 thousand kilograms from 1995 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 36 813.52 thousand kilograms in 2003 and record low of 25.24 thousand kilograms in 2000.
