According to refreshed figures published by European Commission, in 2017 flax yarn import strongly fell by 74.28 percent. It reached its 13-year low as flax yarn import went down greatly from 355 260 Euro to 91 380 Euro, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it diminished by 37.02 percent. The overall changes for the prior 13 years attained a drop of 82.68%. Moreover, it has shown a diminution at a 0.2 percent average annual growth rate during the five years with a slight overall fall since the 2005. It averaged 452 373.08 Euro from 2005 to 2017 and it hit its maximum of 877 660 Euro in 2007.
