Disease incidence rates of measles in China falls in 2017

The indicator sharply fell by 56.91% in 2017, updated data from China National Statistical Office reveal. Disease incidence rates of measles strongly declined from 1.81 per hundred thousand in 2016 to 0.78 per hundred thousand prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it decreased by 41.8 percent. China saw a fall of 89.72% in disease incidence rates of measles over the past 28 years. Besides, it has shown a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.17% over the last 5 years with a overall decrease since the 1990. It averaged 4.76 per hundred thousand from 1990 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 12.07 per hundred thousand in 1992 and record low of 0.46 per hundred thousand in 2012.
