Fuel oil demand in China drops in May 2018

JODI Data published that in May 2018 fuel oil demand fell by 19.65 percent. The indicator declined from 607.62 thousand barrels per day to 488.23 thousand barrels per day, compared with the prior month when it went up by 27.5%. One year earlier, this fluctuation reached -31.11 percent and the variable attained 423.96 thousand barrels per day the same month in 2017. In brief, the indicator was 15.16% higher in May 2017 than in the same month one year later. The overall changes for the previous 14 years hit a decline of 36.7%. Furthermore, the fuel oil demand is now smaller than its average which equals 685.26 thousand barrels per day with a moderate overall fall since the start of observations. It reached its all-time high of 1 181.61 thousand barrels per day in June 2004 and record low of 307.59 thousand barrels per day in September 2011.
