Value of payments by cards with a credit function in Brazil: Stagnation in 2017

According to adjusted data released by Bank for International Settlements, the indicator did not change in comparison with the prior year. For the 2nd consecutive year, the variable was 193.58 billion US Dollars. Brazil saw an increase of 98.95% in credit card payments value during the last 11 years. However, it has shown a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.05% during the five years with a marginal overall growth since the start of time series. It averaged 193.33 billion US Dollars from 2007 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 252.21 billion US Dollars in 2014 and record low of 97.3 billion US Dollars in 2007.
