Import of sacks and bags, having a base of a width of 40 cm or more to Panama goes up in 2016

Compared with 2015 the indicator increased by 13.65 percent, according to data released by United Nations Statistical Office. Consumer goods import rose by 16 730 kilogram, compared to the previous year when it diminished by 16.05 percent. Panama saw a drop of 67% in consumer goods import over the past 22 years. Furthermore, it has had a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.09 percent over the last five years with a negligible overall fall since the start of observations. It averaged 1 222 506.41 kilogram from 1995 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 3 079 728 kilogram in 2011 and record low of 122 537 kilogram in 2015.
