Production of limestone flux, limestone and other calcareous stone in Greece decreases in 2016

According to revised statistics presented by European Commission, the variable decreased hardly by 0.5 percent compared with the previous year. Limestone production slightly fell by 45 735 thousand kilograms, in contrast to the prior year when it went up by 5.46 percent. Greece saw a diminution of 31.59% in limestone production over the past 22 years. Besides, it has attained a drop at a 0.03 percent compound annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a marginal overall decrease since the 1995. It averaged 8 801 863.55 thousand kilograms from 1995 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 17 812 698 thousand kilograms in 2006 and record low of 8 646 219 thousand kilograms in 2014.
