Production of synthetic staple fibres in Portugal: Stagnation in 2017

The indicator remained the same compared with the previous year, according to new numbers announced by European Commission. The variable was 5 661 581 kilogram, for the 2nd consecutive year. Portugal saw a decline of 46.58% in staple fibres production over the past 17 years. As well as it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.02 percent during the 5 years with a modest overall diminution since the start of observations. It averaged 4 707 354.24 kilogram from 2001 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 10 597 311 kilogram in 2001 and record low of 5 394 583 kilogram in 2012.
