Production of synthetic staple fibres in Portugal drops in 2017

The variable went down negligibly by 4.07 percent compared with the prior year, according to numbers published by European Commission. Staple fibres production hardly diminished by 230 378 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it declined by 4.95 percent. Portugal saw a diminution of 48.75% in staple fibres production over the past 17 years. Furthermore, it has shown a fall at a 0.03% average annual growth rate during the last five years with a slight overall drop since the start of time series. It averaged 4 693 741.06 kilogram from 2001 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 10 597 311 kilogram in 2001 and record low of 5 394 583 kilogram in 2012.
