Sales of gums, fruit jellies and fruit pastes in Belgium drops in 2016

According to revised data presented by European Commission, in comparison with 2015 confectionery sales dropped negligibly by 0.72 percent. The variable went down slightly from 41 137.96 thousand kilograms in 2015 to 40 843.67 thousand kilograms prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it fell by 7.36%. The overall changes for the prior 22 years hit a growth of 25.7%. However, it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.01% during the 5 years with a slight overall increase since the start of observations. It averaged 42 232.73 thousand kilograms from 1995 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 46 362.17 thousand kilograms in 2007 and record low of 32 493.78 thousand kilograms in 1995.
