Import of beef and veal salted in brine, dried or smoked to Latvia: Fall in 2017

Processed meat import decreased sharply by 36.46 percent compared with the prior year, according to statistics presented by European Commission. Processed meat import strongly diminished from 48 000 kilogram to 30 500 kilogram, versus the previous year when it grew by 128.57%. Latvia saw a growth of 30 400% in processed meat import during the last 15 years. Moreover, it has had a 0.13% compound average annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a modest overall raise since the start of time series. It averaged 14 066.67 kilogram from 2003 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 48 000 kilogram in 2016 and record low of 100 kilogram in 2003.
