Import of brakes and parts thereof for railway rolling stock to Fiji goes down in 2016

United Nations Statistical Office reported that railway equipment import went down greatly by 89.89% in comparison with 2015. Railway equipment import sharply decreased from 2 375 kilogram to 240 kilogram, versus the previous year when it rose by 15.35%. Fiji saw a fall of 95.4% in railway equipment import over the past 15 years. Likewise, it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.21 percent during the last 5 years with a slight overall decrease since the 2002. It averaged 1 276.73 kilogram from 2002 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 5 730 kilogram in 2008 and record low of 78 kilogram in 2007.
