Production of salt suitable for human consumption in European Union increases in 2017

According to statistics issued by European Commission, condiment production hardly grew by 4.06 percent compared to the previous year. The indicator increased barely by 97 183 488 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it went up by 16.82%. The overall changes for the previous 10 years hit a diminution of 37.27%. Besides, it has had a drop at a 0.01 percent average annual growth rate over the 5 years with a slight overall fall since the 2008. It averaged 2 901 356 620.8 kilogram from 2008 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 3 970 534 400 kilogram in 2008 and record low of 2 048 978 688 kilogram in 2015.
