Import of horse, ass, mule, hinny meat to the UK goes up in 2017

In 2017 horse meat import sharply went up by 75.5%, according to refreshed numbers announced by United Nations Statistical Office. Horse meat import increased strongly from 3 292 US Dollar in 2016 to 5 777.47 US Dollar prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it climbed by 789.73%. The overall changes for the prior 25 years hit a decline of 77.34%. Besides, it has attained the average annual growth rate of 0.37 percent during the 5 years with a modest overall rise since the 1993. It averaged 99 131.58 US Dollar from 1993 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 1 841 931 US Dollar in 2006 and record low of 114 US Dollar in 1997.
