Import of chestnuts to Sri Lanka: Decrease in 2016

United Nations Statistical Office reported that the indicator diminished sharply by 70.25 percent compared to the previous year. Chestnuts import went down greatly from 474 kilogram to 141 kilogram, contrarily to the prior year when it went up by 7 800 percent. Sri Lanka saw a drop of 41.74% in chestnuts import over the past 24 years. As well as it has had a fall at a 0.28% compound annual growth rate over the last five years with a marginal overall decline since the start of observations. It averaged 742.08 kilogram from 1993 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 2 494 kilogram in 2005 and record low of 6 kilogram in 2014.
