Passengers carried on local airlines in Japan: Raise in 2014

Air passenger traffic barely increased by 3.57 percent compared with the prior year, updated statistics from Japan National Statistical Office illustrate. Air passenger traffic went up slightly from 53 134 thousand persons in 2013 to 55 032 thousand persons prior year, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it rose by 9.16 percent. Japan saw a decline of 0.23% in air passenger traffic over the past 10 years. As well as it has shown a raise at a 0.02% compound average annual growth rate during the five years with a modest overall decrease since the start of time series. It averaged 52 433.5 thousand persons from 2005 to 2014 and it reached its all-time high of 57 758 thousand persons in 2006 and record low of 44 685 thousand persons in 2011.
