Export of plain weave cotton of yarns of different colours containing less than 85% by weight of cotton weighing more than 200 g/m2 from South Africa goes down in 2017

According to statistics issued by United Nations Statistical Office, in comparison with the previous year the indicator declined by 10.23 percent. Cotton export fell from 1 693 US Dollar in 2016 to 1 519.74 US Dollar prior year, contrarily to the previous year when it rose by 308.94%. South Africa saw a decline of 98.63% in cotton export over the past 18 years. As well as it has shown the compound average annual growth rate of 0.36 percent during the five years with a negligible overall fall since the start of observations. It averaged 37 737.54 US Dollar from 2000 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 283 233 US Dollar in 2002 and record low of 300 US Dollar in 2010.
