Import of roses to Namibia decreases in 2016

According to new data announced by United Nations Statistical Office, in comparison with the previous year the indicator strongly decreased by 85.71 percent. Cut flower import greatly diminished from 5 459 kilogram in 2015 to 780 kilogram prior year, in comparison to the previous year when it grew by 44.23%. Namibia saw a diminution of 62.87% in cut flower import over the past 17 years. As well as it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.16% over the 5 years with a negligible overall increase since the 2000. It averaged 3 448.12 kilogram from 2000 to 2016 and it attained its all-time high of 18 374 kilogram in 2007 and record low of 26 kilogram in 2003.
