Export of polystyrene waste or scrap from El Salvador decreases in 2017

The indicator went down strongly by 54.5 percent compared with the previous year, according to numbers issued by United Nations Statistical Office. Polystyrene export diminished greatly from 58 550 kilogram to 26 638 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it dropped by 12.9%. El Salvador saw a growth of 213.39% in polystyrene export during the last 21 years. Furthermore, it has shown the compound annual growth rate of 0.06% during the last 5 years with a negligible overall raise since the start of time series. It averaged 89 561.86 kilogram from 1997 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 813 542 kilogram in 2012 and record low of 1 687 kilogram in 1998.
