Crude oil demand in Portugal: Growth in May 2018

Crude oil demand rose slightly by 2.52 percent compared with the prior month, adjusted numbers from JODI Data pinpoint. The variable grew hardly from 8 722.7 thousand barrels to 8 942.6 thousand barrels, as it follows the tendency of the previous month when it increased by 19.6%. The same month in 2017, the indicator climbed by 0.25 percent and reached 8 957.26 thousand barrels. In sum, the variable was -0.16 percent smaller in May 2017 than in the same month in 2018. Portugal saw a growth of 17.01% in crude oil demand over the past 16 years. Besides, the crude oil demand is now greater than its average which equals 7 502.02 thousand barrels with a sharp overall raise since the start of time series. It attained its all-time high of 9 844.19 thousand barrels in September 2015 and record low of 1 935.12 thousand barrels in February 2009.
