Soybean oil consumption in United Arab Emirates: Stagnation in 2017

The indicator did not change compared to the previous year, refreshed data from U.S. Department of Agriculture highlight. The variable held steady at 21 thousand tonnes, for the 2nd consecutive year. United Arab Emirates saw a growth of 75% in soybean oil consumption over the past 22 years. However, it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.12 percent over the five years with a sharp overall increase since the start of time series. It averaged 35.32 thousand tonnes from 1996 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 64 thousand tonnes in 2008 and record low of 5 thousand tonnes in 2000.
