Import of multiple (folded) or cabled cotton yarn of uncombed fibres containing more than 85% by weight of cotton, measuring per single yarn more than 714 decitex to Madagascar climbs in 2016

Cotton import grew strongly by 23 366.67 percent in comparison with the previous year, according to new statistics released by United Nations Statistical Office. The indicator greatly rose from 9 kilogram to 2 112 kilogram, versus the previous year when it diminished by 96.65 percent. The overall changes for the prior 26 years attained a raise of 170.42%. Still it has had a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.41 percent during the last 5 years with a marginal overall increase since the start of time series. It averaged 27 858 kilogram from 1991 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 222 819 kilogram in 2006 and record low of 1 kilogram in 2011.
