Import of residues of starch manufacture and similar residues to Fiji declines in 2016

United Nations Statistical Office reported that starch import strongly decreased by 69.6 percent compared to the previous year. Starch import declined greatly from 11 877 US Dollar to 3 611 US Dollar, in comparison with the prior year when it went up by 840.38 percent. Fiji saw a rise of 1 661.46% in starch import over the past 14 years. Besides, it has shown the compound average annual growth rate of 0.33% during the five years with a modest overall increase since the 2003. It averaged 1 383 US Dollar from 2003 to 2016 and it reached its all-time high of 11 877 US Dollar in 2015 and record low of 68 US Dollar in 2005.
