Iron and steel scrap consumption at iron foundries and miscellaneous users in United States drops in 2014

U.S. Geological Survey published that in 2014 iron and steel consumption went down hardly by 1.77 percent. The variable slightly fell from 5 660 thousand tonnes in 2013 to 5 560 thousand tonnes previous year, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it decreased by 15.65%. United States saw a decline of 49.45% in iron and steel consumption over the past 13 years. As well as it has had the average annual growth rate of 0.01 percent over the last five years with a negligible overall decrease since the start of time series. It averaged 7 144.62 thousand tonnes from 2002 to 2014 and it attained its all-time high of 11 000 thousand tonnes in 2002 and record low of 4 460 thousand tonnes in 2003.
