Sales of footwear with textile uppers in Italy: Rise in 2016

According to updated statistics released by European Commission, footwear sales increased by 14.21 percent in comparison to the prior year. The variable rose from 887.9 thousand pairs in 2015 to 1 014.05 thousand pairs previous year, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it grew by 55.32%. Italy saw a fall of 97.23% in footwear sales over the past 20 years. Furthermore, it has attained a 0.02 percent CAGR over the last five years with a negligible overall decrease since the start of time series. It averaged 13 073.74 thousand pairs from 1997 to 2016 and it attained its all-time high of 36 564.82 thousand pairs in 1997 and record low of 571.66 thousand pairs in 2014.
