Import of  railway or tramway sleepers (cross-ties) of impregnated wood to Europe: Diminution in 2017

According to adjusted statistics released by United Nations Statistical Office, the variable fell sharply by 79.13% in comparison to 2016. It hit its 18-year minimum as wood product import greatly declined from 5 552 730.5 US Dollar to 1 158 768.88 US Dollar, contrarily to the previous year when it grew by 26.55 percent. Europe saw a diminution of 76.83% in wood product import during the last 18 years. Besides, it has had a decline at a 0.21% average annual growth rate over the five years with a modest overall fall since the 2000. It averaged 3 951 839.13 US Dollar from 2000 to 2017 and it reached its maximum of 7 198 032 US Dollar in 2001.
