It's the lowest record in its history since 1996 as the indicator decreased from 69 655 to 51 418, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it went down by 23.38%. China saw a fall of 58.92% in machine tools imports over the past 22 years. Besides, it has had a drop at a 0.07 percent CAGR over the 5 years with a negligible overall diminution since the 1996. It averaged 99 862.32 from 1996 to 2017 and it hit its maximum of 127 138 in 2004.
