Sales of chewing gum in Italy: Decrease in 2016

According to refreshed figures announced by European Commission, in comparison with the prior year chewing gum sales decreased by 7.49 percent. The variable fell by 3 162 thousand kilograms, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it went down by 15.27%. Italy saw a rise of 32.51% in chewing gum sales during the last 22 years. Though, it has attained a decline at a 0.05% average annual growth rate during the five years with a negligible overall increase since the start of observations. It averaged 35 458.09 thousand kilograms from 1995 to 2016 and it hit its all-time high of 61 101 thousand kilograms in 2007 and record low of 20 430 thousand kilograms in 2001.
