Import of medicaments containing insulin but not antibiotics for therapeutic or prophylactic uses, not put up in measured doses or for retail sale to European Union: Raise in 2016

Insulin import rose greatly by 703.07 percent compared with the previous year, according to figures released by European Commission. The indicator strongly increased by 6 802 310 Euro, versus the prior year when it diminished by 76.66 percent. European Union saw a diminution of 54.71% in insulin import during the last 14 years. Besides, it has attained a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.19 percent over the five years with a negligible overall fall since the 2003. It averaged 11 348 679.29 Euro from 2003 to 2016 and it attained its all-time high of 21 962 580 Euro in 2012 and record low of 967 520 Euro in 2015.
