Number of payments per inhabitant by cards with a debit function in Brazil: Raise in 2017

Compared to the previous year debit card payments number climbed by 8.2%, according to new numbers released by Bank for International Settlements. It hit its 11-year maximum as the variable grew from 33.18 to 35.9, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it rose by 4.9%. Brazil saw a growth of 296.25% in debit card payments number over the past 11 years. As well as it has attained the compound average annual growth rate of 0.08 percent over the 5 years with a sharp overall raise since the 2007. It averaged 21.68 from 2007 to 2017 and it attained its minimum of 9.06 in 2007.
