Export of frozen boneless sheep cuts from Portugal: Decline in 2017

According to figures issued by United Nations Statistical Office, in 2017 sheep export went down greatly by 94.1 percent. The variable sharply decreased from 29 145 kilogram in 2016 to 1 720 kilogram prior year, in contrast to the previous year when it went up by 144.16%. Portugal saw a decrease of 90.63% in sheep export over the past 25 years. Moreover, it has had a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.53% during the five years with a modest overall rise since the start of observations. It averaged 18 564.44 kilogram from 1993 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 143 021 kilogram in 2011 and record low of 26 kilogram in 1997.
