Import of walnuts in shell to South Africa increases in 2017

In 2017 walnuts import went up sharply by 318.21 percent, according to updated statistics presented by United Nations Statistical Office. Walnuts import strongly grew from 15 904 kilogram in 2016 to 66 512.29 kilogram previous year, compared with the prior year when it went down by 78.15 percent. South Africa saw a raise of 91.28% in walnuts import during the last 18 years. Furthermore, it has attained a rise at a 0.29 percent average annual growth rate during the last 5 years with a slight overall growth since the 2000. It averaged 36 126.07 kilogram from 2000 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 143 758 kilogram in 2014 and record low of 1 734 kilogram in 2001.
