Wheat imports in China: Drop in 2017

Wheat import fell by 9.97% in comparison to the prior year, according to refreshed numbers issued by China National Statistical Office. The variable dropped by 81.35 million US Dollars, as it follows the tendency of the previous year when it decreased by 9.5%. The overall changes for the prior 24 years reached a decline of 23.54%. Moreover, it has had a diminution at a 0.17 percent compound average annual growth rate over the last five years with a moderate overall drop since the 1994. It averaged 668.02 million US Dollars from 1994 to 2017 and it attained its all-time high of 2 026.39 million US Dollars in 1995 and record low of 14.8 million US Dollars in 2008.
