Flax yarn import climbed sharply by 264.44% in 2017, revised statistics from European Commission display. Flax yarn import strongly rose by 23 800 kilogram, contrarily to the previous year when it went down by 37.5 percent. Spain saw an increase of 720% in flax yarn import during the last 13 years. However, it has shown a diminution at a 0.03 percent compound annual growth rate over the last 5 years with a modest overall decrease since the 2005. It averaged 23 230.77 kilogram from 2005 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 72 600 kilogram in 2007 and record low of 4 000 kilogram in 2005.
