Import of maize except seed corn to Sri Lanka rises in 2017

United Nations Statistical Office reported that compared with the prior year the indicator grew strongly by 302.88 percent. Maize import rose sharply from 10 786 170 US Dollar to 43 455 224 US Dollar, in contrast to the previous year when it diminished by 37.47%. It's the highest record ever reported since 1990. Sri Lanka saw a raise of 7 866.97% in maize import during the last 28 years. As well as it has had a 1.67 percent compound average annual growth rate over the 5 years with a negligible overall increase since the start of observations. It averaged 10 671 495.07 US Dollar from 1990 to 2017 and it hit its minimum of 15 143 US Dollar in 1992.
