Export of fresh or chilled whole skipjack, stripe-belly bonito from Sri Lanka rises in 2017

According to revised statistics published by United Nations Statistical Office, in 2017 fish export strongly increased by 45.99%. It highlights the all-time peak since 2003 as fish export rose greatly from 126 971 kilogram to 185 362.95 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it went up by 1 210.74%. The overall changes for the previous 15 years reached an increase of 38 277.42%. Furthermore, it has shown the average annual growth rate of 1.67 percent over the last 5 years with a negligible overall raise since the start of observations. It averaged 21 659.6 kilogram from 2003 to 2017 and it attained its minimum of 135 kilogram in 2004.
