Import of broken rice to Brazil grows in 2017

United Nations Statistical Office announced that rice import sharply climbed by 30.42% in comparison with the previous year. The indicator strongly grew from 898 086 US Dollar to 1 171 277 US Dollar, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it went up by 482.84%. Brazil saw an increase of 1 319.73% in rice import over the past 29 years. However, it has shown a negative compound annual growth rate of 0.17% during the 5 years with a negligible overall decrease since the start of time series. It averaged 2 152 666.55 US Dollar from 1989 to 2017 and it hit its all-time high of 9 881 920 US Dollar in 1993 and record low of 34 760 US Dollar in 2006.
