Export of bars, rods and profiles of aluminium alloys from Sri Lanka falls in 2017

The indicator decreased strongly by 46.82% compared to the previous year, according to revised numbers announced by United Nations Statistical Office. Aluminium export greatly diminished from 11 809 kilogram to 6 280.6 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it went down by 33.35 percent. Sri Lanka saw a rise of 1 494.06% in aluminium export over the past 28 years. However, it has shown a negative CAGR of 0.2 percent over the five years with a negligible overall growth since the 1990. It averaged 50 077.13 kilogram from 1990 to 2017 and it reached its all-time high of 450 021 kilogram in 2007 and record low of 10 kilogram in 1999.
