Global iron ore production, gross weight falls in 2017

According to statistics presented by U.S. Geological Survey, in 2017 iron ore production barely diminished by 2.24 percent. Iron ore production fell hardly from 2 230 000 thousand tonnes in 2016 to 2 180 000 thousand tonnes previous year, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it decreased by 2.19 percent. The variable saw a 108.59% growth over the past 20 years. Furthermore, the iron ore production is now above average of 1 746 328.88 thousand tonnes and the indicator displays a modest overall rise since the start of observations. It hit its all-time high of 2 330 000 thousand tonnes in 2014 and record low of 1 016 289 thousand tonnes in 1999.
