Export of fresh or chilled live octopus from Senegal: Diminution in 2016

In comparison with the year before octopus export went down greatly by 92.38%, updated data from United Nations Statistical Office constitute. Octopus export strongly diminished by 2 643 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it dropped by 26.87 percent. It hit its 18-year low. The overall changes for the previous 18 years attained a diminution of 96.44%. Furthermore, it has shown a negative average annual growth rate of 0.6 percent over the 5 years with a negligible overall drop since the 1999. It averaged 35 415.33 kilogram from 1999 to 2016 and it reached its maximum of 276 121 kilogram in 2009.
