Export of fresh or chilled live octopus from Senegal drops in 2016

In comparison with the previous year octopus export strongly decreased by 92.38 percent, updated data from United Nations Statistical Office pinpoint. Octopus export fell sharply from 2 861 kilogram to 218 kilogram, as it follows the tendency of the prior year when it dropped by 26.87 percent. It's the lowest ever diagnosed since 1999. The overall changes for the previous 18 years hit a diminution of 96.44%. Likewise, it has shown a negative compound average annual growth rate of 0.6 percent during the last five years with a slight overall decrease since the start of time series. It averaged 35 415.33 kilogram from 1999 to 2016 and it reached its maximum of 276 121 kilogram in 2009.
