British sea transportation expenditure is set to reach almost €891 million by 2026, growing at an average of 0.6% year-on-year from 2021's €835 million. Since 2013, the UK's demand for sea transportation has increased by 0.5% each year. Finland, Estonia and Belgium follow the UK in terms of expenditure. The number of British passenger ships decreased by 65% in 2019, from 20 units in 2018, to just seven. Since 2005, the supply of passenger ships has decreased by 18.1% year-on-year and the UK placed 14th in the rankings - with Cyprus ahead at seven units. Spain, Italy and Greece took the top three spots.
