China's import and export of polypropylene is expected to grow in the coming years. In 2021, China's import of polypropylene was over 3 million tonnes, with no year-on-year change. Since 1997, demand has grown by 0.6% year-on-year. Italy, Germany and Indonesia were the second, third and fourth largest importers respectively. Meanwhile, China's export of polypropylene is estimated to reach 431 million tonnes in 2026, an increase of 3.6% on the 2021 figure of 344 million tonnes. Since 1997, supply has grown by 7.6% year-on-year, with China ranking 15th in 2021. Russia took the lead, followed by South Korea, Germany and Singapore.
