Summary
The Danish commercial beverages market remained almost flat in quarter 4 and for the year overall. Low prices in domestic supermarkets and assumed falling Border shop sales supported the soft drinks market in Q4-15. Fierce price competition enabled consumers to afford more branded soft drinks products, with the notable exception of squash/syrups, where branded products cannot match PL on price. Whilst the festive period and price discounts encouraged increased consumption of lower volume alcoholic drinks categories, overall beer volumes continued to drop.

Key Findings
- Carbonated packaged water remains in positive territory. This continues to be driven by the flavored segment and an assumed drop in Border sales

- Post-mix sales are an indicator that on-premise consumption of carbonates may be growing
