Quenching the thirst: Profit will likely expand as craft breweries fight for shelf space
Abstract
Beer Wholesaling in Mexico
Mexico is the world’s fourth-largest beer-producing country, behind the United States, Brazil and China. Operators in the Beer Wholesaling industry in Mexico have benefited from the country’s rapid expansion of its beer economy. Beer wholesalers are primarily concerned with the distribution of beer from brewing facilities to downstream retailers. These operators benefit from the regulatory framework surrounding the sale and purchase of alcohol. In Mexico, individuals are able to buy liquor 24 hours per day, and there is no restriction on the type of establishment permitted to sell beer. As a result, wholesalers are able to sell industry products to grocery stores and convenience stores as well as bars and restaurants. Over the five years to 2019, despite a favorable regulatory environment and enhanced beer production, the Beer Wholesaling industry in Mexico has declined. Over the five years to 2024, industry revenue is poised to rebound.
This industry comprises establishments dedicated primarily to wholesaling beer. This industry excludes establishments engaged in wholesaling a wide variety of products, including beer, and establishments that prepare and serve beer for immediate consumption.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
