Nicaraguans can expect to see a steady rise in paint import over the next five years. According to the latest figures, the import of paint is set to reach 236,560 kilograms by 2026, a 1% increase year-on-year on average. Since 1998, Nicaraguan demand for paint has been decreasing by 1% each year. Paint export, on the other hand, has dropped significantly since 2004, falling by 56.4% year-on-year. In 2018, the country was ranked 84th in the world, with 720.88 kilograms of paint export. Sri Lanka came ahead, followed by the Czech Republic, Germany, and Indonesia.
