Italian pigment exports are projected to decline to approximately 4.8 million kilograms by 2028, down from around 5.5 million kilograms in 2023. This marks an annual decrease of 2% on average. From 1999 onwards, Italy's pigment supply has been dwindling by about 2.5% each year. In 2023, Italy ranked ninth in pigment exports, with the Netherlands surpassing it with nearly 5.5 million kilograms. Germany, Saudi Arabia, and China secured the second, third, and fourth positions, respectively. On the import front, Italy is expected to see a modest increase. Pigment imports are set to reach approximately 4.2 million kilograms by 2028, up from around 4 million kilograms in 2023. This represents an average annual growth of 1%. Italian demand for pigment has been rising by 1% per year since 1999.
