China is set to remain the world's leading exporter of plastic packaging, with exports expected to reach $12 billion by 2026. Since 1997, Chinese plastic packaging exports have increased by an average of 5.9% year-on-year. The United States, Germany and France ranked second, third and fourth respectively in the ranking. China is also set to remain the twelfth largest importer of plastic packaging, with imports predicted to reach $1.49 billion by 2026. Chinese demand for plastic packaging has increased by 2.6% year-on-year since 1997. Spain was the largest importer in 2021, followed by Germany, France and Mexico.
