Botswana's plastic packaging imports are predicted to reach around $25 million by 2026. This is an increase of 1.2% annually since 2005, when it was at $23 million. In 2021, Botswana ranked 108th in the world, with Zambia overtaking at $23 million. Germany, France and Mexico took the second, third and fourth positions in this ranking respectively. Botswana's plastic packaging exports, meanwhile, are expected to drop to $2.9 million by 2026, a fall of 1.7% a year since 2005 when it stood at $3.2 million. In 2021, Botswana ranked 98th, with Swaziland ahead at $3.2 million. The United States, Germany and France were the second, third and fourth in this ranking.
