Malaysia's pesticide consumption is set to decline by 0.7% year-on-year to 45,100 metric tons by 2026. Since 1995, the market has dropped by 7% annually. In 2021, the country was ranked 13th, with Mexico taking the lead at 46,900 metric tons. The United States, Brazil and Argentina followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively. In 2018, Malaysian pesticide imports totaled 4.57 metric tons, down 24.1% from 6.02 metric tons the previous year. Since 2002, demand has decreased by 29% year-on-year. Vietnam overtook Malaysia in the rankings, coming in at 34th with 4.57 metric tons. Thailand, Germany and Taiwan followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. The country was ranked 27th in 2018, with Austria claiming the lead at 0.2 metric tons. Germany, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom followed in second, third and fourth place respectively.
